THALIANA BOTANY BOWL

Registering For The

Students interested in participating in the 2023 Thaliana Botany Bowl must register themselves and their other team members before the registration deadline of September 27, 2023. Students are allowed to create teams of one to three members, including themselves, and are allowed to form teams with students of different schools and nations.

Emails will be sent to the provided email addresses to notify you of your successful registration and your place in the competition

Pre-Examinations

Before the competition, a pre-examination phase will be held, where all competitors will take a short multiple-choice exam that will determine their seeding in the bracket. Individual awards and prizes may also be given to top scorers and teams.

A brief camera check for test integrity and security will be held before the beginning of the pre-exam.

Zea mays

Following the pre-exam, seedings for the Thaliana Botany Bowl tournament will be determined based on the average scores of all team members.

The tournament itself is structured in multiple rounds, with two teams going head-to-head in each round, competing for a higher score. The question structure for the tournament is based on the National Science Bowl rules and guidelines, ensuring a rigorous and comprehensive test of the participants' knowledge and understanding of botany.

RESULTS AND PRIZES

After the competition has concluded, our staff team will go through both the pre-examination individual scores and final team rankings to determine awards. There will be awards for both individual and team performance. Results and prizes will be announced 1-3 days after the competition.
